FIRST

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition for Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen to inspire youth to pursue science and engineering. FIRST Robotics Competition began 1992 with 28 team competing in Manchester, NH. It has grown to more than 3000 FRC teams in 2023. FIRST has programs for students in grades preK - 12.
